BI SHRINKAGE YARN (BSY) is a unique combination of two yarns with different shrinkage mechanisms, resulting in a composite yarn with a peach skin texture and silky touch. Parth Enterprise produces BSY in several varieties, including 50/48 sd BSY, 80/48 sd BSY, and 130/42 sd BSY, all of which have a semi-dull luster. The yarn is soft to handle, bulky, and has good drapery and resilience, making it ideal for use in a variety of applications such as Burka Fabrics, Trousers, Ladies Tops & Bottoms, Abayas, Scarfs, Dress Materials, and more.
During the processing of BSY, the high-shrink element shrinks, and the low-shrink element comes out of the fabric due to micro-loops, giving the fabric a textured effect. This is also known as a brushed effect, peach skin effect, or terry loop effect, depending on the fabric’s construction and component yarn characteristics.
BSY yarns are categorized based on a special shrink-bulk effect that occurs when the fabric is exposed to over-feeding or wet-finishing. Unlike the older technique of texturing yarn before making it into fabric, BSY yarns are made by combining FDY and POY, resulting in a cost-effective production process with various possible new combinations. Other combinations of BSY are also possible by making variations in the combinations, including fully-oriented, high speed-oriented, low-oriented, polyester friction textured, self-elongation yarns, and fully-drawn.
